RULES OF USE
GeoBoulder

1. Access to the facilities

To access the climbing gym, it is mandatory to register at the front desk and formally accept these rules, as well as sign a waiver releasing GeoBoulder from liability for any injuries or accidents resulting from climbing activities.

GeoBoulder is not responsible for any personal injury or material damage resulting from the use of the facilities.

Minors must provide written authorization signed by their parents or legal guardians, including the corresponding liability waiver.

Children under 13 must always be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Access is not permitted to anyone showing clear signs of intoxication due to alcohol or drugs.

The following are prohibited:

  • Smoking inside the premises.
  • Bringing alcoholic beverages or glass containers.
  • Eating in climbing areas.
  • Entering shirtless.
  • GeoBoulder reserves the right to deny admission for safety reasons or inappropriate behavior.
  • Voluntary use of the facilities implies full acceptance of these rules.

2. Hygiene and maintenance

All users must keep the facilities clean, respect other users, and use sports equipment and furnishings responsibly.

Any damage caused by negligent use will be the responsibility of the user.

Waste must be disposed of in the appropriate bins.

The use of liquid chalk is recommended. If powder chalk is used, it must be kept to a minimum to avoid saturating the air or damaging the holds.

3. General safety

Indoor climbing carries inherent risks, which each user accepts by using the facility.

All climbers must sign an informed consent form stating they are aware of the risks associated with this activity.

Holds may not be moved or modified. Any defect must be reported immediately to GeoBoulder staff.

Users are required to report any damage or anomalies in the climbing wall without delay.

GeoBoulder staff will enforce compliance with these rules. In the case of group activities (schools, businesses, etc.), the group leader is responsible for ensuring these rules are followed.

4. Training and activities

Only GeoBoulder staff or persons expressly authorized by GeoBoulder may conduct training sessions, classes, or professional activities.

External instructors, freelancers, or organizations may not offer services unless expressly approved by GeoBoulder.

Participants in official training programs, classes, or scheduled activities have priority access to the climbing routes.

Accompanying persons must also register at the front desk, even if they are not climbing. Under no circumstances may they belay or assist a climber.

5. Boulder area

Entering the mat area with street shoes is strictly prohibited. Climbing shoes must be worn.

The fall zone must be kept free of backpacks, personal items, or obstacles.

It is strictly prohibited to:

  • Climb under or above another climber on the wall.
  • Stand beneath another user who is actively climbing.
  • Liquid chalk is recommended, and the use of powder chalk should be kept to a minimum to protect the holds and maintain air quality.

6. Rope climbing

All equipment must be certified and in good condition: rope, harness, carabiners, belay device, climbing shoes, and helmet.

Equipment must be used under the supervision of GeoBoulder staff.

All safety points must be used, and proper belaying technique must be followed.

Climbers must descend slowly and in a controlled manner.

Two-point anchor systems must be used for descents, with both points properly connected, especially when finishing a route on top-rope or lead.

Advanced maneuvers (anchor setups, rappelling, etc.) are only allowed in authorized courses or with prior approval.

Belaying must always be performed with an auto-locking belay device (e.g., Grigri or similar).

Tubes or figure-eight devices ("Ocho") are prohibited, except in authorized courses.

In cases of significant weight difference between climber and belayer, the lower belay anchor must be used.

It is prohibited to grab or hold onto any metal part of the structure.

7. Aerial silks

All activities must be carried out with caution and appropriate safety measures.

The user declares awareness that aerial silks involve physical risks and confirms they have the technical skills to perform safely.

Otherwise, the use of aerial silks is only permitted under the supervision of an authorized instructor.

The use of illegal substances in the facility is strictly prohibited.

GeoBoulder recommends that participants obtain accident insurance for these types of activities.
